You can drive around Terceira in a day, but you cannot see it without a car. Serra do Cume, Algar do Carvão, the villages along the north coast — everything is spread out, and public transport follows island life rather than a visitor's plans.
Rentals start at Lajes Airport. You can return the car at three places: the airport itself and, by prior arrangement, the ports of Praia da Vitória and Angra do Heroísmo. That saves you the drive back across the island when your trip continues by ferry.

What you need to bring
- We rent from age 18.
- Up to and including age 20 there is a one-off surcharge of €45.00, and the deposit is €2,000.00.
- From the next year on, the category deposit applies: €150.00 to €600.00, held on the card.
- Driving licence, ID card or passport, and a credit card in the driver's name.
